Yodel manage mobile with Ryzex

Yodel has agreed a mobile asset management contract with Ryzex, who will supply over 15,000 hand held terminals to the delivery company.

Ryzex will provide asset and mobile device management to Yodel, enabling the company to manage the equipment from a centralised platform. Yodel will save a minimum of £500,000 per year through improved mobile management that will increase efficiency to its service centres.

The terminals are Yodel’s drivers’ main communication device, allowing them to receive instructions and feedback accurate scans on more than 200 million parcels per annum.

Operations of such scale require effective management of mobile assets, and it is for this reason that Yodel decided to extend its contract with industry leader Ryzex, following a four year working relationship.

Greg Smith, CIO at Yodel, says: “We have worked with Ryzex for many years and have always been pleased with their advice on our mobility strategy. Extending our agreement will allow Ryzex to broaden the scope of its support to us and will allow us to enhance the doorstep experience, which is fundamental to Yodel’s service.”
