Torex has launched kachng!, a cloud-based HTML5 point of sale which will work via a browser on any tablet device, smartphone or traditional PoS. The combination of the HTML5 PoS with the portability and low cost of tablet computing means kachng! is well-suited to retailers, restaurants, bars and franchises looking for a flexible PoS.

It can be scaled quickly in line with demand and also fits into their existing IS systems and PoS framework.

As a cloud-based service, it is easily accessible, does not require a big investment in hardware and can be set up in a matter of minutes. This means it is also suited to the SMEs who do not want or need to invest in a ‘full service’ traditional PoS set up and who can be more agile in their business development.

Ideal for pop-up shops, it also suits large retailers to reduce queues and who wish to reorganise the store without having to worry about re-laying cables. Larger scale operators can also benefit from its easy scalability when looking to expand existing outlets or move into new geographies.

Paul Broome, Chief Technology Officer, Torex, says: “The rise in mobile technology brings enormous business benefits to retailers and hospitality companies, and kachng! is Torex’s answer to the need for flexibility, providing the depth of the traditional POS in the lightest way possible. It’s agnostic to the backend and can tie in to existing systems from an infrastructure perspective but is also a potential ‘queue-busting’ device, providing better customer service on the shop floor."
