Torex has acquired the retail division (RBS) of Sanderson Group plc for a consideration of up to £11.75 million. The complementary skills and technology from both companies will create a clear market leader in store and multi-channel systems.

RBS is a leading UK supplier of retail IT solutions and services to high street multiples, multi-fascia retailers, department stores, visitor destinations, garden centres, speciality and charity retailers. For the year ended 30 September 2011, RBS generated approximately £12.5 million in revenues.

RBS provides a full managed services offering, together with value added technology, around Torex’s Retail-J. RBS supports 25 UK retailers on Retail-J, including Wilkinson, Selfridges, Hamleys, Fenwick and French Connection.

Retail-J is an integrated, web-enabled suite of in-store and central applications suited to the needs of medium and large retailers. It offers real-time central management and control of the point of sale.

Steve Rowley, CEO, Torex, says: “We have worked closely with RBS for many years and this acquisition makes perfect sense. It brings together RBS’ excellent managed services and delivery capabilities with our market leading technology and go-to-market strategy. Together, we can provide current and future customers with a full retail technology service.”
