Soletrader use iPads to capture sales

Soletrader has unveiled an integrated in-store iPad ordering solution, which means staff can order in out of stock items for customers. The shoe retailer has a network of over 50 stores across the UK has also developed a highly effective direct operation with extensive online trading.

When a customer could not find their size in a store, shop assistants would advise customers to go online, which meant the sale might be lost.

MNP's StoreActive works by allowing the sales assistant to search for the customers shoe requirements and place the order linked to real-time inventory. The customer can then pay via chip and pin or online, the order is then shipped direct to home or work.

Additional benefits is that the customer details would then be captured and this is where the marketing machine can build lifetime value from what was just a transactional retail spend.
