Mothercare/ELC plans global expansion

Mothercare/ELC has partnered with Torex to further their plans for growth in international markets over the next three to five years. Having achieved significant growth over the last few years in Russia, India and China, Mothercare wants to ensure its manufacturing partners can continue to support this rapid expansion.

The retailer chose Torex Merchandise Planning to model its global expansion and provide detailed information to pass on to its manufacturing partners to plan future capacity. Building on the successful implementation of pre-season planning functionality, Mothercare want to introduce additional capabilities of the solution.

Implementing the full Torex Merchandise Planning solution will improve the merchandising process for Mothercare and The Early Learning Centre by replacing a number of legacy systems. Mothercare will now be able to accurately plan long-term capacity, ensuring that manufacturers can support forecast growth, which in turn will allow the retailer to provide a consistent product range across all of its channels and international franchises.
