Molton Brown teams up with VNC

Luxury beauty brand Molton Brown has deployed VNC Enterprise Edition throughout its global retail network. With a portfolio of 50 stores in the UK and hundreds of stockists across 70 countries, VNC Enterprise Edition gives the UK head office fast and secure access to sales figures from all of the retail systems around the world with no disruption to staff or customers.

Although a global brand, 85 per cent of Molton Brown’s manufacturing facilities, as well as its corporate headquarters, are based in the UK. IT support is outsourced but the internal IT team still need to collate confidential sales data in-house.

“We chose VNC Enterprise Edition after evaluating a number of VNC remote access solutions,” said Tanay Taank, VP Information Technology at Molton Brown. “The speed and simplicity of establishing a session as well as the unobtrusive nature of RealVNC’s solution were key factors. Now our IT technicians can access retail systems even outside of trading hours or when staff are busy with customers. As much of this data is confidential it is important that all sessions are authenticated and strongly-encrypted to ensure the secure transfer of data.”

With VNC Enterprise Edition now installed on every Molton Brown POS and back-office PC system across the globe, the centralized UK-based IT team has round-the-clock access to global sales figures by polling the information from head office. All this can be done without having to rely on the retailer to send the sales figures to them manually.
