Kogan launch 'cable con' campaign

Electronics retailer, Kogan, has launched a campaign to end what it terms an ‘HDMI cable con’ by stores like John Lewis and DSGi. They say big retailers are ‘ripping off’ the British public by selling these television cables for up to £100, while Kogan charges just £4 for a similar piece of kit that.

According to the Australia based company, which has recently opened a store in the UK, they have had an overwhelming show of support from social media sites, with people joining their protest from Facebook and Twitter.

“Bloggers, tech pundits and shoppers from all around the UK have been thanking the Kogan team for making these big high street retailers accountable for their dodgy practice,” Ruslan Kogan writes in his blog. John Lewis and Currys-parent DSGi denied the upselling claims, saying they helped customers buy the ‘right’ cable.
