Fashion retailer, Jigsaw, has launched one of the UK’s first full m-commerce sites allowing customers to buy clothes via their smartphones. The site, powered by YOC, also enables shoppers to learn more about the latest fashion trends while they are on the go.

Jigsaw decided to launch an m-commerce site after web stats showed mobile browsers who were accessing their home site were leaving straight away as it was not optimised for mobile. This presented consumers with a negative brand experience and Jigsaw were missing out on a major commercial opportunity.

YOC were able to propose a high end design that takes advantage of a range of smartphone touch features. The site provides easy navigation through Jigsaw’s complete product range and enables a full m-commerce experience.

The YOC multi-channel Platform optimises content to over 14,000 browsing devices available in the market. All device attributes including screen resolution, OS, touch features, connection type & script support are accounted for within the platform.

The site was built using YOC’s dynamic proxy transcoding (scraping) technology.

Users are automatically presented with the nearest Jigsaw store to their GPS location on the home page and can click through to a map showing how to get to the store. Social networking links are also integrated throughout the mobile site.
