Purchase even when the store is closed

The automated retailing of higher value goods is becoming very popular in the USA and is being pioneered in the UK by Aurum. Goldsmiths Boutique have introduced the Automated Space Automated Retail Machine at its flagship store in Westfield Stratford.

The machine, which was designed and built by Automated Space Ltd., creates a convenient and hassle free shopping experience. This means that customers can purchase their goods immediately without queuing, at a convenient time - even if the store is closed - after viewing them both in the machine and on screen.

The front of the machine has been specifically designed to match in with the store and is an integral part of the store frontage. Its door incorporates a clear window element that enables the products to be displayed inside the machine complementing the window displays either side of the machine as well as giving the customer the opportunity to view the product before they buy.

The external appearance of the machine can be customised to suit store design requirements. In the case of the Goldsmiths machine this involved the application of Hanex cladding to the front of the machine to match the finish on the rest of the store front.

Products are stored within pods inside the machine. The design of the pods can be tailored to suit the products stocked, and they can be powder coated and dressed with inserts, to match the store colour scheme, complement the store decoration or enhance presentation of the products.
