AX Paris launches first website

AX Paris, the Manchester-based fashion retailer, has developed a partnership with Melbourne Server Hosting to launch its first online shop. The website, which has been over four months in development, went live in August 2011.

Melbourne, which is based at Manchester Science Park, was appointed by the High Street fashion brand to provide server hosting services. As part of the contract, Melbourne developed a dedicated Linux server, specifically designed for variable web traffic.

Speaking of the partnership, Monica Mistry, head of e-commerce, at AX Paris, said: “Getting to grips with online commerce has been a significant challenge. However, Melbourne was able to guide us through the initial start-up process with complete ease, showing the right balance between professionalism and personality.”

She continued: “Online commerce forms the backbone of our growth strategy and it was important to work with a company that is reliable and understands our requirements."

As part of the contract, Melbourne advised and managed the initial launch and set-up. It has also been retained to provide ongoing server support and maintenance.
