Australian omnichannel retailer City Chic has bought Sir Phillip Green’s Evans brand for £23 million.
City Chic, which specialises in plus-size women’s apparel, footwear, and accessories, is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and operates primarily through its online store in Australia, New Zealand and the US.
It also has a store network in Australia and New Zealand, as well as wholesale and marketplace partnerships in the US, UK, and Europe.
The purchase excludes the Evans store network, with these stores continuing to trade for the time being.
The transaction will complete on Wednesday.
Deloitte, administrator for Arcadia, said that the process to secure new owners for the other brands in the group is ongoing.
It added that there have been “significant expressions of interest for all brands.”
Earlier this month it was reported that Primark and Authentic Brands Group were among 40 parties interested in bidding for parts of Sir Philip Green’s Arcadia Group.
