Wolseley UK consolidates multichannel business

Builders’ merchant Wolseley UK has worked with e-commerce firm Salmon to bring together the brands that represent its plumb, parts, pipe, drain and climate businesses online.

Developed on the IBM WebSphere Commerce platform, the new site launched in November last year and supports a new operating model, customer value proposition and self-service capabilities. The website offers personalised experiences for customers, using integrated technology powered by Monetate.

The site boasts a range of new features, each designed to give customers a smoother online experience across desktop, tablet and mobile devices. Customers can check personalised trade prices, stock availability, and view invoices, credit notes, statements and proof of deliveries within the My Account section.

Martin Girdlestone, head of e-commerce at Wolseley, noted the importance of an seamless online experience for customers. “Simply improving an online offering is not enough in tough market conditions.
