New systems aid Mills Group expansion plans

Mills Group is implementing two new systems from Torex across its 82 stores.

Workforce Management will automate the paper-based time and attendance tracking processes currently used in the convenience store retailer's outlets. The solution will free up manager time, ensuring that resources can be more usefully employed in serving customers. Business Analytics will analyse in-store data to assess which products and promotions are most popular with shoppers. It will also support the opening of five larger format convenience stores, formerly owned by Somerfield.

Mike Hodgson, IT director at Mills Group, comments: "As a business that has continued to grow in recent years, it has been essential for us to have a powerful and reliable PoS system to support our development. Power-PoS for convenience has proved to be an excellent solution for us, and Torex a valuable partner. We are now looking to build upon the strength of our existing systems, and believe that the dedicated workforce management and analysis solutions offered by Torex are the best option to achieve this. The improvements brought by the new technology will help us develop stronger, more streamlined processes, and offer a range of goods and services that more accurately reflects the needs of our customers."
