ScS Group publishes 2017 results

Furniture and flooring retailer ScS Group has announced its results for the 52 weeks ending 29 July 2017, revealing online sales of £11.3 million and total sales of £349.5 million.

Online gross sales were up 12.3 per cent on last year, while operating profit increased 8.8 per cent to £12 million. Sales order intake was up three per cent on a like-for-like basis for the nine weeks to 30 September 2017.

The retailer opened four new stores in the year, and now trades from 100 ScS stores and 27 House of Fraser concessions. Sales from those concessions were up 8.3 per cent to £27.4 million.

David Knight, chief executive officer of ScS, commented: “We are delighted to be reporting continued sales growth across all areas of the group for the third year in a row. The core ScS business has continued to focus on providing excellent choice, value and quality for our customers, and I am pleased to see this delivering record results in furniture and flooring sales.

“Since the start of the current financial year, trading performance has been in line with our expectations. Furthermore, we believe the group’s increasing resilience will enable us to manage the continued economic uncertainty and take advantage of opportunities.”
