Poundstrecher has selected Vodat International to provide its MPLS (multi protocol label switching) network solution across its 335 stores.

This is a three-year deal, which will help the business reduce costs and improve bandwidth, performance and resilience. Steven McArdle, head of cost control, Poundstretcher, says: "We decided to work with Vodat for a further three years as we are happy in the knowledge that our estate is well managed by a professional and highly capable company. Over the coming years we hope to push more technology through the estate to allow us to maximise the potential of the network. By working hand in hand with Vodat it allows the company's technology to be a great benefit to our business on a day-to-day basis."

"Vodat and its team of professionals has helped us with the implementation of wireless hand held terminal guns in each store, PCI compliance and networked managed media devices. The company is always willing to help us with new ideas and technologies. We are already introducing a new circuit to cope in the event of central failure, which will allow stores to carry on trading seamlessly. We also plan to increase bandwidth at all stores over the coming months," he adds.
