Judo, the pay as you go mobile card payment service, announced the completion of a successful partnership with this year’s Real Food Festival. The partnership made card acceptance a reality for traders who wished to take cards at the festival, but who didn’t want to invest in expensive mobile payment technology.
Judo launched a special offer for the four day duration of the festival where traders simply needed to sign up prior to the festival to benefit from the service. Consumers could pay traders either using the judoPay app or Judo’s interactive voice system. Judo also had a stand at the festival to support traders on the spot.
Dennis Jones, CEO of Judo, said: “Our partnership with the Real Food Festival is a fantastic example of how small traders and retailers can accept cards using only mobile phones, even when they are trading in a temporary setting. Visitors to events like the Real Food Festival may not be carrying enough cash to pay for the tasty goods that they see on display. By registering with Judo, traders can make sure they never miss a sale.”
Customers could pay using any phone by either dialling judo at 0203 503 0900 or downloading the judoPay mobile app from the iTunes App Store - then paying by card at Judo member retailers in three simple, secure steps. After payment, both customer and retailer received immediate confirmation that the payment had been received.
