Fujitsu announce new high-def PoS

Fujitsu has today launched the TP-X II Model 500 point of sale (PoS) Controller Series for UK retailers. Incorporating Intel’s second Generation Core i3, i5 and Pentium processors, the third release of the TP-X II PoS solution enables retailers to create customer touch points in the most diverse and challenging environments.

The TP-X II 500 Series controllers run cooler and consume less power, increasing reliability while reducing the total cost of ownership and the overall carbon footprint of the retailer.

Configurable with up to 14 powered USB ports, the TP-X II Model 500 Series is able to connect and power a full set of retail peripherals and eliminates the need for additional power bricks.

“We developed the TP-X II 500 Series to provide retailers with resilient, flexible PoS systems that allow them to respond to consumers who want a more helpful and interactive in-store experience and create the most complete retailing solution for their particular environment,” explained Andy Taylor, head of retail strategy, Fujitsu UK&I. “Our latest PoS release offers higher performance, greater reliability, and two form factors, including the extremely compact ‘Coupé’ to fit any store environment. Generous connectivity to the peripherals accelerates sales, enhances the customer experience, and optimises retail management.”

With dual screens and support for high-definition audio, this single platform can also be deployed in multiple roles ranging from a PoS or kiosk, to a service desk and more.
