Foursquare launch location-based app

Foursquare has announced a location-based app that alerts retailers to users based on their user profiles. Foursquare Radar even tells users about potential areas of interest when the app is not open.

It also lets users know when a group of their friends are nearby, as well as notify people when they’re near areas on their To-Do list. Their bog said: “The app doesn’t even have to be open, it just works. We call it foursquare Radar, because it finds things nearby that you normally wouldn’t know about.”

The app is available from the Apple app store and a similar update for Android users is in the works, according to Foursquare.
