ByBox has teamed up with Big Yellow Self Storage as part of a £2 million programme that will see its locker solution expand throughout the UK. Locker installations at Big Yellow Self Storage sites have already commenced with nine sites already live in Camberley, Hounslow, West Norwood, North Kensington, Battersea, Birmingham, Fulham, Sutton and Watford. Further sites are planned.

The partnership between the two companies gives consumers a choice in how they receive their purchases and enables them to collect a delivery from a convenient location when it suits them; on their way to work, near their home or while they are carrying out their daily duties rather than having to wait in for a delivery.

mybybox.com was launched in 2010, the locker solution allows consumers to collect their parcels from one of ByBox’ 400 locker locations in the UK, located at retail parks, supermarkets, shopping centers, petrol stations, railway stations and now self storage sites. The lockers are easy to use and are reminiscent of a bank ATM.

The partnership with Big Yellow Self Storage will enable ByBox to further accelerate its roll-out programme which Alexandra Korda, consumer director of ByBox describes as an exciting development. She comments: “We are delighted to team up with Big Yellow Self Storage in a move that will allow us to further expand our service offering to customers across the UK.

“We recognise that each and every one of our customers – whether a business or consumer – wants to collect their parcels with minimal impact on their life."

Tom Wilcockson, head of new business development at Big Yellow sees the relationship between the two companies as a natural fit. “This is an exciting move for Big Yellow Self Storage and a win-win for both us and ByBox," he says.
