Box Technologies' customer facing solutions played a key role in the launch of House of Fraser’s first two new format concept stores. The House of Fraser.com stores opened in Aberdeen on 21 October and in Liverpool on 22 November this year.

The new stores are the first of their kind and will focus on House of Fraser’s Buy & Collect proposition. At 1500 sq. ft., the smaller format stores do not stock merchandise. Instead, a series of large format ELO Touch Screens and computers are used to order products, which are then delivered the following day to either the customer’s home or to the store for collection.

Box Technologies was involved throughout the planning and implementation stages of the process to specify, supply, install and commission the hardware, whilst working with House of Fraser’s in-house team to integrate the concept and deliver the software.

Personal customer service is key to the overall concept, with a complimentary coffee bar and comfortable seating encouraging a relaxed shopping environment. Sales advisers help customers navigate House of Fraser’s online offering, assisting them with the process from product selection to online secure payment.

Forty-six inch ELO touch screens provide the main customer interface utilising the MediaTile interface linked to proprietary software from House of Fraser. Fifty-five inch Sony LED digital signage screens provide customer information throughout the store, and for payments, Box Technologies supplied Toshiba PCs with SpacePole mounting solutions from Ergonomic Solutions.
