ASOS goes live with Virtusize fitting solution

ASOS and Virtusize (the virtual fitting solution) announced the UK launch of ‘Fit Visualiser’ after an extensive six month trial. Starting today, shoppers can tell if an item of clothing fits, before buying it online, by using the ‘Fit Visualiser’, which is initially available on more than 2,000 of ASOS´ own brand products.

Virtusize has come up with a solution to the problem of communicating size and fit online.
Virtusize allows customers to compare specific measurements of an item they are looking to buy with those of a similar item they already own. Displaying and overlaying silhouettes of both items then allows customers to easily compare sizes and choose the one that would fit them the best.

Virtusize has been proven to decrease fit-related returns for online retailers – in some cases by up to 50 per cent. Over 23 popular online retailers in Scandinavia, Germany and Austria, including Nelly.com, Stylebop.com and WeSC, currently benefit from Virtusize.

Hayley Martin, product manager at ASOS says: “We put our customers’ shopping experience at the heart of our business, we spent a lot of time over the past 12 months finding out what our customers really wanted out of a size and fit solution which led us to launch a trial with Virtusize.

“Customer response to the solution was overwhelmingly positive, resulting in us fully launching with the tool earlier this month. We plan to roll out further across our product range and look forward to working closely with Virtusize to continue to develop and improve the experience for our customers."
