The implementation
of Kronos for Retail will enable an integrated approach
to workforce management including budgeting, forecasting,
scheduling and attendance.
The forecasting and scheduling capabilities of the
solution enables Somerfield to manage employee schedules
by accurately matching staffing requirements to customer
demand. Somerfield hopes Kronos for Retailer will
increase productivity while improving customer and
employee satisfaction.

Kronos for Retail allows Somerfield to create the
optimal employee schedules based on store-specific
data including historical business trends and customer
traffic.
These optimised schedules, based on Somerfield’s
labour requirement in 15-minute intervals, mean that
staff are always in the right place at the right time.
The system is designed to integrate with the retailer’s
existing SAP HR and Payroll system and is set to be
rolled out across all retail stores during 2007.
