AboutEditor’s comment Our 2009 Multi-Channel Summit was a huge success, featuring such speakers as Will Jones, IT Director, The Book Depository; Guy Stephens, Online Help Manager, The Carphone Warehouse; John Bovill, Group IT Director, Aurora Fashions; Matthew Tod, CEO, Logan Tod; Hedley Aylott, Managing Director and Co-Founder, Summit Media. And so our attentions have turned to plans for 2010. Wednesday, 15 September is the date, the IoD Hub, London once again the venue. It's no longer a subject for debate. With a quarter of all retailing set to take place online within the next 10 years, traditional retailers need to become multi-channel. But in many ways they are dealing with a deceptively easy concept: easy to explain but often hard to put into practice. With this in mind, an agenda for our 2010 Summit has been formulated and Retail Systems readers are invited to put forward suggested subjects and potential speakers for the following areas: Multi-channel retail in the second decade of the 21st century - who is doing what well and what needs to be done better? Integration's the key: integrating across channels to provide a seamless and consistent customer experience. The rise of m-commerce. Retail and social networking. Retail technologies available to multi-channel retailers. Where next for multi-channel retail? Scott Thompson Editor – Retail Systems |
