Paul Mason, CEO, PMC Limited
Paul has worked in the retail sector for over 25 years. He has extensive, senior experience on both the operational and service sides of the industry, having worked for many leading retail organisations before founding PMC in 2001.
A qualified accountant, Paul started his career with the John Lewis Partnership where he spent 11 years in various finance and operations roles and held management positions in several of the Group’s department stores. His association with retail systems began at Bhs where he held senior IT and business change roles. He led one of the largest systems enabled change programmes undertaken by a retailer in recent times - that included the complete replacement of almost all the company’s systems prior to the Millennium. Immediately before founding PMC, Paul was responsible for group systems strategy at Kingfisher, working internationally. He was also Director of Systems at B&Q.
Matthew Tod, CEO, Logan Tod
Matthew is the CEO at Logan Tod & Co, an online business improvement and optimisation consultancy which he founded in 2002. The company works with clients to maximise results from online investment through improved conversion, enhanced website efficiency and targeted customer acquisition. A strong analytical approach coupled with a robust process, and deep understanding of the technology needed to convert ‘interest into action,’ enables Logan Tod & Co to deliver more sales, leads, registrations and cost savings for clients. The company has worked with a wide range of companies across many sectors including media, retail, finance, B2B, travel and home. Before launching Logan Tod & Co, Matthew was chief executive at full service marketing agency, Publicis NetWorks, London, a subsidiary of Publicis.
Guy Stephens, Online Help Manager, The Carphone Warehouse
Guy is the Online Help Manager at Carphone Warehouse, where he has been since September 2008. He is responsible for delivering help self-service via carphonewarehouse.com, and is currently exploring how social media can be integrated into a more formalised customer service framework. Prior to Carphone Warehouse, he was the Global Online Marketing Manager for Mars Drinks, the largely B2B division of the global Mars FMCG business. Guy has worked in the online environment for over ten years, building up experience in online marketing, eCRM, SEO, ecommerce, email marketing, project management and social media. He is a strategic thinker who is passionate about championing the cause of the customer and how their needs can be met in an increasingly fragmented and multi-channel environment.
John
Bovill - Mosaic Fashions
John joined Aurora Fashions via Oasis in 2001, taking on the role of Supply Controller , managing a team responsible for sourcing, quality and product development. He was then appointed Director in 2003 responsible for business development, such as mergers and acquisition, business integration and the deployment and formulation of the shared services and e-commerce strategy. He started his current role as Group I.T. Director in December 2006 and has since integrated two IT teams, developed a selective outsourcing model and delivered international, e-commerce and single systems implementation.
Previously, John led the Supply Chain development team at Warehouse and worked at Sears Womenswear within the Logistics team, in both an Operations and Project Management capacity. Prior to working at Sears he was on the Harrods graduate training scheme. His early passion for retail is revealed by the five years he spent selling clothing from a market stall.
James Roper - IMRG
James Roper is Chief Executive and Founder of IMRG (Interactive Media in Retail Group), the industry association for e-retailing, and Chairman of IMR World, a primary source of global e-business intelligence. James has worked exclusively on interactive retail projects since the mid 1980s, and has been personally involved in the commercial development of hundreds of solutions using all forms of screen-based delivery channels.
James previously held Business Development Director positions with London-based application developers Convergent Communications and New Media Productions, where he managed work for retailers, financial institutions and manufacturers. In 1990, he managed the original IMR (Interactive Media in Retail) survey that led to the formation of IMRG later that year. Since that time, James has worked full time for the IMRG, developing and expanding its activities. Acknowledged as having a unique and holistic insight into the evolution of the electronic commerce industry, he is a regular speaker on the subject at conferences worldwide. He is regularly called on to serve as an industry expert, and has served the European Commission in that capacity on a number of ESPRIT and other R&D programmes.
Nigel Griffiths - Clarita Solution
Nigel Griffiths has 20 years experience in business transformation services. He has held senior positions at RTZ and the BBC, having previously qualified as a chartered accountant with Ernst and Young. He spent the first half of his career designing, purchasing, and implementing business processes and related systems. In 1997, Nigel was co-founder of Fifth Dimension, a business systems consultancy that has grown to become one of the leading mid market business systems providers in the UK. The group includes FD Systems, the largest Sage software provider in the UK, Gravit-e, a leading integrated e-commerce provider and Clarita Solutions, Microsoft’s leading partner in the multi-channel retail arena.
